Rape Escape women's self-defense and LTL Defensive Tactics for Law Enforcement classes to be held on a weekly basis at our Thornwood location beginning in April 2004. Details soon.

Steve is expected to complete the New York State Department of Criminal Justice ground tactics and defense curriculum. This curriculum will be offered to currently certified police defensive tactics instructors statewide.

Defend Univsersity of New York's Steve Kardian appears on Inside Edition with child safety expert Marty McDonald. Both commented on the kidnapping, rape and murder of Florida child Carlie Brucia. They also demonstrated effective self-defense technqiues that anyone can use to avoid being taken to a secondary crime scene.

February 2, 2004

Steve Kardian and Brad Parker announced the establishment of the Reduce the Odds ™ program for high school and college age women. While any woman can be the victim of a sexual assault, statistics tell us that women between the age of 16-20 are four times more likely to be victimized. The mission of this program, like the Rape Escape program, is to reduce participants' odds of being a sexual assault victim.

The New York Campus of Defend University is established. Formerly the Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Training Association of Thornwood, NY, the facility is now a complete center devoted to self-protection and conflict survival. Offerings include Rape Defense womens's self defense classes, LTL (Less than Lethal) Defensive Tactics for Law Enforcement and on-site lectures and programs. For more information, please contact us.
