Instructor certification courses take you through exactly how to teach the course and how to avoid damaging pitfalls with this highly sensitive subject matter. The demand for this program has been increasing dramatically. We get requests from all over for classes and we just can’t keep up. Current instructors are providing classes for schools, groups and students all over North America, Ireland, the United Kingdom, Asia and Brazil. Publicity on the program has been picked up from California to New York. More women are searching for realistic and effective women's self-defense programs and they are discovering "Fight Like A Girl" and Rape Escape in classes, on the Web and from the popular DVD series. We want to help women get the knowledge they need in today’s world. And that’s where you come in.
Become a certified instructor. You get a proven curriculum that is easy and quick to pick up. Women in your community get the knowledge and training that they desperately want and need.
You ultimately run the classes the way you want. You can choose to donate your time and expertise to your community or you can keep any money you charge for your classes. You also get national marketing and publicity to develop awareness of the program. You get an established Internet presence to push referrals to your classes.
In return, Defend University gets the support it needs to spread self-defense knowledge to as many women and girls as possible.
As a certified Women's Self-Defense instructor, you get: | Inside access and association with a successful program and curriculum that is proven. | Listing on Rape Escape.com (and the new womensdefense.org site) with instructor profile and photo. | | National marketing support and national publicity support with stories on network television, newspapers and magazines. | "Fight Like a Girl" Instructor t-shirt. | | Referrals from Rape Escape.com (soon to be moved to womensdefense.org) and Defend University. | Instructor Certificate for display. | | CD with complete course materials including a special section with inside information on how to successfully teach the course. | Lecture module and a video module for the Reduce the Odds Program that you can use for presentations to schools and groups. The lecture and video modules can be combined with your demonstration. Or each one can be used separately. | | A semi-custom brochure with your personal information included. (Available as a Microsoft Publisher file which you can have printed out at your local Kinko’s) | Instructor support with questions and answers on how to start your program, how to make it work and how to avoid common mistakes. | As a certified instructor, you’ll have the credentials you need to teach women’s self-defense classes for community groups, churches, women’s groups, women’s trade associations, commercial fitness centers and schools.
Our new Women's Empowerment Series gives you more choices for what you want to teach. Now there are four different modules: - Fight Like a Girl
- Girls on Guard
- Defending Against Weapons
- Weapons for Women
Our new and improved versions give you -- as an instructor -- more courses to market. Each module emphasizes a different aspect of women's self-defense, giving you the option to reach different markets and different interest areas. The cost for each module (not including meals or accommodations) is only $300.00. This low cost can realistically be recaptured by giving one class! Think about it, if you have 10 students and charge only $30 per student, you've already paid for your course. To ensure continued quality, instructors are required to recertify every two years at half the cost of the initial certification. Instructors are able to attend any refresher course for no charge between their recertification’s. If it's so low, why charge at all? Actually, when we first began certifying instructors, I gave away the course. Literally. I invited people who I thought would be good instructors and I did not charge them anything. In fact, for some of these instructors I also gave them free copies of the Rape Escape instructional video tape series. This was all done to support our mission of combating violence against women. Some of these instructors have gone on to be quite successful and active. Most others, quite frankly, have not done anything with the program. It's an interesting aspect of human psychology -- we value what we pay for. Course is Life Changing
Here is your chance to really give back to your community by offering a valuable, and valued, service. Your involvement in this program is life-changing – for you as well as your students. You'll find the network of instructors is very, very supportive. All of us have a similar mission, some say it's their "calling". The course is full of friendly, supportive instructors. We are all working to make our communities better, so you'll have plenty of like-minded people to work with. And we all have time to trade ideas and tips for starting your program. You’ll find the courses immensely interesting as we delve into the challenges and opportunities of teaching the non-martial artist female a method of self-defense which realistically allows them to defend themselves against a male attacker.
