Now you can become a Certified Women's Self-Defense Instructor 

Instructors, educators, activists and concerned citizens from around the world have all become certified instructors. They want to learn how to teach the system and they want to be able to offer it to their students and communities.

The current network of certified instructors is spreading the word and educating women in support of our mission: Prevent and combat sexual assault and violence against women. 

When a young woman was brutally attacked at a Manhattan Night Club Inside Edition went to National Women’s Safety and Self Defense Expert Steve Kardian for answers!

Women's Safety and Self Defense Expert Steve Kardian speaks to CBS News on the savage attack on a Nurse at the Midtown Manhattan bar. Doctors performed reconstructive surgery on her this week.  The suspect approached the 29-year-old victim inside the bar "Social," and when she rejected his advances grew angry. He later followed her to the bathroom and beat her unconscious, leaving her with a fractured eye socket, nose, and skull. The suspect is charged with attempted murder, assault and attempted rape.

Brutal “Broad Daylight” Rape Raises Community Concerns – Tampa, Florida

Steve Kardian was interviewed by the St. Peterburg Times regarding the brutal "broad daylight" rape that occured in a Tampa parking garage while a security guard was on patrol one level below. ·          Rehearse a plan in your mind. Don't wait until you're attacked to figure out what you'd do.

·          Pay attention. Texting, chatting on a cell phone and other digital distractions will only make you more of a target.

·          Fight back. This thwarts 90 percent of attacks. Predators are worried about two things, getting caught and getting hurt. They won't want to waste their time on you.       

·          Listen to your intuition.

Are College Students Too Trusting? A must see for parents and students alike!

If you’re out on a date or in a social setting and you hear cute words like swirl, special k, liquid e, scoop, blue nitro, forget pill. ruffies or fantasy, then date rape drugs like GHB, Rohypnol and Ketamine may be in the house! Even worse they may be in your drink!

The predator has developed a new method of introducing these drugs. They are now commonly being carried in visine bottles, contact lens solution, nose drop bottles, breath mint bottles and squirt guns … Yes, squirt guns! Even that cigarette you’re offered may contain the date rape drug ketamine.

Rapists now have in their sinister tool box more than a couple of methods to render their victim helpless and law enforcement are left to put together a puzzle with many of the pieces missing. GHB, Rohypnol and Ketamine all have one thing in common…. “Amnesia” The victim will likely not be able to provide law enforcement with who, what, when, where and how. 12 New Fight Like A Girl Instructors were certified the weekend of February 21st and 22nd, 2009. Instructors came from New Mexico to Canada, including 3 members of the New Mexico State University, New York State Police, Westchester County Police and the Rockland County Sheriff’s Department.
